A flower is the beautiful creation of Mother Earth. Flowers surround us at every phase of life. They are the source for everything. They are used to express joy, grace, glamour and gratitude. No matter where a flower grows, it never fails to amaze people with its fragrance. Flowers come in different shapes, sizes and color. It has wider varieties. Flower enhances the beauty of our earth. It is the life blood of nature.
Flowers have a great significance in our life. Flowers can make you happy by triggering your happy brain chemicals: dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin. Flowers can help stimulate a sense of pride with others and release serotonin whether you grow them, buy them, receive them or admire them from a distance. The contrasting color of flower brings joy to many. Their elegancy and delicacy touch soothes everyone. People love flowers for their color, textures and fragrances.
Flower has great religious significance too. In our country Nepal, flower is one of the main ingredient to offer a god.
Individuals bow to their deity offering a flower or a garland made from flower. They offer flower to god in every occasion. Apart from religious importance, the aroma of flower which is very heart warming, we plant flowers in our home courtyard to enhance the beauty and make aromatic. It acts as a decoration too. Flowers have their importance in every corner of the world. Flower is used for medicinal purposes too. Flowers like marigold, sunflower, hibiscus, etc. have health benefits too. Different types of flowers like Chamomile, Lavender, etc. have been widely used to make perfumes and scents.
Flowers is used for decoration purposes in birthday parties to weddings. It is also used in funeral to express sorrow, respect and gratitude. We use bouquets to make our loved one happy or to welcome a new born. Flower can be used to decorate dishes and to add smell to the dishes. We can compare our life with the life of a flower. As the life of a flower starts as a small bud and when bud grows up, the petals of the flowers comes out of the bud and spread its sweet aroma in the surrounding and after that flowers start losing its aroma and slowly does and so is the case with human lives.
That’s why we can say that flower is our companion from birth to death.
